Dear colleagues and partners in the Boulder area birth community,
Thank you for your early registration. It has been a delight to receive the overwhelming interest and high volume of registrants for the upcoming Boulder Birth Alliance (BBA) inaugural conference.
Regretfully, we must inform you that BBA’s conference for November 3 is postponed at this time. All registrations will be refunded in full and we apologize for the inconvenience.
There is a scheduling conflict as Community Hospital implements a new electronic medical system and we look forward to announcing a date to convene in the new year.
Despite the setback, we are most grateful for this opportunity to bring our community together. As our mission is to engage providers through education and collaboration to support family-centered care in Boulder County throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum, we welcome you to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in partnering with the BBA.
The Boulder Birth Alliance Board of Directors
Our mission is to engage providers through education and collaboration to support family-centered care in Boulder County throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Physician - Obstetrics & Gynecology
Instructor - Mindful Birthing/Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP)
I am passionate about families receiving care that is nurturing of their wholeness; aimed at improving well-being and responsive to health concerns that arise along the way. I am also invested in providers offering the best of their expertise, as shaped by their training and strengthened by their clinical experiences. Collaboration among the the numerous resources in our community will ensure that we all thrive, as caregivers and care-receivers.
MBCP teachings are founded in the philosophy that we can learn through awareness of our sensations, emotions and thoughts how to uncover the gifts of our shared humanity. We may do this during pregnancy or certainly any phase of life.
I am a psychotherapist, a birth doula in Boulder, an educator and a mentor / supervisor to new professionals. Since 1996, I have been steeped in a wide range of mental health professions ranging from non-profits, universities and private practice. With my extensive professional background, I provide a wide bag of resources and support tools that I tailor to your unique situation and needs.
I have worked in many specific areas, including: pain management, birth doula support, family interventions, university faculty, co-creation of university counseling center and internship program, crisis prevention and prevention, abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, grief work, community response teams, community building, program development, psychoeducational presentations, leadership training, life skills, women’s groups, allyship in diversity work, volunteer advocacy programs, networking & coalition building, rites of passages ceremonies, coaching business strategies, mentoring and supervision.
Elizabeth is a Certified Doula and is now folding that knowledge in with her business operations experience to help grow The Birth Center of Boulder. The birth of her three children, 2 with the guidance of midwife Angela Stevens, awakened her to the strength and wisdom of women as they transition into motherhood. Prior to motherhood, Elizabeth was the director of The Outdoor School in Santa Barbara, CA.
Haley is a DONA trained Labor and Birth Doula, with additional training in Spinning Babies techniques. She is also an Infant CPR Instructor through the American Red Cross and a certified Yoga Teacher. She has an MA in Environment and Development and background in guiding wilderness experiences for children and adults alike. She finds nourishment in space of wilderness and the tender yet powerful space of birth.
Pregnancy and birth of her son have fueled the desire to work with women and families through this incredible rite of passage: BIRTH. The personal experience of the birth has also solidified her conviction for the compassionate care of a Doula. Years of experience as a guide, coach and mama contribute to her ability to 'mother the mother' during the birthing process.
Haley looks forward to holding space for both you and your partner, navigating the influx of information families receive during pregnancy, birth prep and birth, and to giving continued, grounded support while you bring your baby into the world.
